Long Covid GP

Dr Michael Ferres graduated from medical school in 1975, and after hospital residencies have worked in rural general practices, initially in small towns, and for the last 30 years, in Dubbo. Along with his wife, Dr Ferres has also spent some stints in a camp for Cambodian refugees in Thailand and in hospitals in Papua New Guinea as well as Uganda. For about 20 years he also provided GP services to a Juvenile Justice Centre in Dubbo and Wellington adult jails.

More recently Dr Ferres has developed an interest and education around Covid-19 related illness and says, "Since the pandemic and response occurred I have become aware of an increasing number of abnormal forms of illness occurring in our community and of the efforts by some scientists and health professionals to try to understand and provide effective treatments for these, I would like to apply some of this knowledge for the benefit of those who may be affected by these conditions."

Dr Ferres will be providing services specifically for those who may be suffering long/Covid-19 related illness by appointment at 147 Bourke St, Dubbo. He can be contacted on 0411252265. 

Qualifications Include: 

Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (2nd class honours) Sydney University.

Post-graduate qualifications include:

Fellow of Royal Australian College of General Practitioners

Diploma Royal Australian College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists

Diploma in Shared Care Psychiatry (Eating Disorders) NSW Institute of Psychiatry
